What do you think about a deck using Wildgrowth Walker and Amalia Benavides Aguirre?
Maybe the maindeck could be combo and then side into a butterfly/transformational sideboard/midrange strategy? Seems like a really cheap boardwipe/win-con and also access to good sideboard cards like Rest in Peace.

Direction I was thinking of going with it is exactly same as what you are suggesting. Be ready to transform post board when they bring in more stuff to disrupt the combo.
Big reason is that I don't think the combo itself will be overly powerful. If the deck is strong I suspect it will be because Amalia is just a strong card on her own when paired with Soul Sister type cards. Then the combo provides an extra dimension to help close out games (like this article is about) and give the deck game against a wider range of decks.
